The federation

The federation

The only tamburello federation in Belgium, affiliated to the International Tambourine Ball Federation.

An alliance born of a European Cup

In December 2025, the Municipality of Evere hosted the first tamburello European Cup ever played in Belgium: nine nations, twenty-four teams, around a hundred participants, in a municipal hall. A two-year-old federation does not obtain a mandate from the International Federation on its own. It needs a municipality that says yes.

Evere said yes first, and for a long time alone. The hall of the sports complex is made available, the first tambourine club in Belgium was born there, the national team trains there, and the children of the municipality play there free of charge.

The remit of the alderman for Sport is titled "Sport" and "Solidarity between peoples". That is the exact definition of what tamburello has become in Evere: a sport where you hear a dozen languages in the same hall on a Sunday morning.

  • Alessandro Zappala Mayor
  • Jean-Luc Muleo Alderman for Sport, Housing, Employment, Youth and Solidarity between Peoples

That the federation still exists at all, it owes to this municipality and to those who lead it.

Supporting the federation

The federation has received no structural funding to date. Everything achieved has been achieved on personal funds and volunteer work. Municipalities, companies, foundations: a partnership, a donation or the loan of a hall changes in concrete terms what we are able to do.
